Your palm photo
When you ask for a reading, your photo is sent to our reading service, held in memory while your lines are found, and dropped when the request finishes. It is not written to the server's disk and it is not put in a database.
What comes back is geometry: the coordinates of your lines and a few measurements like length and curvature. That result is shown in your browser tab and disappears when you close or reload it.
What the server keeps briefly
The reading service holds the most recent few dozen results in memory so that re-uploading the same photo does not repeat the work. Each entry is the geometry only. Your image is not part of it.
Entries are keyed by a hash of the image rather than the image itself, they are pushed out as newer readings arrive, and they are all lost whenever the service restarts. Nothing here is written to disk.
Hand images and biometric law
Images of hands can count as biometric data under laws including the EU and UK GDPR (Article 9) and the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Those rules are strictest about building and storing a biometric identifier, meaning a template used to recognise a specific person.
We do not do that. We measure the creases in one photo to write you a reading. We do not build an identifier, we do not try to recognise anyone, and we do not keep the photo.
You consent to this one-off processing by choosing a photo and asking for a reading.
Accounts
There are none. You do not sign up, and we do not ask for your name, email address or payment details. Readings are free.
Advertising
This site is supported by Google AdSense, which is what keeps readings free. Google and its partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads.
Google acts as an independent controller for what it collects, under its own policies rather than ours. Where the law requires a consent choice, including in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, that choice is presented by Google's own consent tool before personalised ads are served.

Who else handles your request
Running a website means other companies carry the traffic. Cloudflare sits in front of this site for encryption and delivery, and the server itself is hosted on DigitalOcean.
Both keep their own operational logs, which include IP addresses, for their own security and reliability purposes. We do not control how long those are kept.
What we collect otherwise
Nothing beyond the ordinary. There is no analytics, no tracking pixel and no fingerprinting. Our own web server keeps standard request logs to keep the service running and to stop abuse. The reading service logs how long a reading took and any errors, and does not log your image or your results.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly process their data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data.
In practice we hold very little to act on. There is no account, no stored photo and no saved reading. The one thing worth knowing is that a repeat upload may be answered from the short-lived cache described above, which clears itself.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Any material change to how photos are handled will be said on the page where you upload them, not only here.
